
Phoenix was active as the Arizona Technology Council hosted its 12th annual Tech and Business Expo on October 16. The expo showcased innovations across sectors such as aerospace, biotech, robotics, and space exploration, focusing on the tech industries that contribute to Arizona's economy.
The gathering kicked off with a panel titled "Arizona’s Mineral Wealth: Navigating the Future of Mining and Innovation." Moderated by Heath Vescovi-Chiordi, the Pima County Economic Development Director, it featured insights from several prominent figures. "The importance of critical minerals for a green energy future" and how South32 aims to build its workforce using largely local Southern Arizona talent were among the key topics discussed, according to Pima County Newsroom.
After the panel, the expo focused on Southern Arizona's diverse tech landscape and its growing startup ecosystem. Industry experts discussed the region's achievements in high-tech fields and recognized outstanding contributions by presenting awards for excellence in Southern Arizona's tech sector.
In addition to the discussions, the expo featured over 65 companies from across the state, including a manufacturing pavilion. The event concluded with an "after 5 Tech Mixer" reception. As mentioned on the Pima County Newsroom, that such gatherings can offer opportunities for tech and business professionals to foster innovation.
